INDIANAPOLIS, IN: Sustainable Nutrition International (SNI), a 501c3 non-profit headquartered in Indianapolis, will receive a 2015 Indiana Innovation Award, October 15, during Centric’s Day of Innovation Conference at Butler University. Now in its fifth year, the Indiana Innovation Awards recognize individuals and organizations who lead the innovation charge in our state.


Sustainable Nutrition International is focused on remediating chronic malnutrition in infants through daily consumption of a proprietary rice bran product, NutraIso®. SNI was founded in 2011 to help the 165 million children who are born chronically malnourished worldwide each year. SNI is working to change the food paradigm by changing the life of a child not just for a day, but for a lifetime.


“SNI is honored to receive this prestigious recognition for our efforts in remediating chronic malnutrition among third world infants and young children,” says Dr. Glenn H. Sullivan, SNI founder and Purdue University professor emeritus.


“We need to look at innovative ways to address problems of disease and food security (in the world), says Dr. Elizabeth P. Ryan assistant professor at Colorado State University, Department of Clinical Sciences. “NutraIso utilizes an underused food source–rice bran–that can not only feed people and make them healthier, but can also remediate chronic malnutrition in newborns. This is something we must pursue.”


Accepting the award for Sustainable Nutrition International will be Dr. Glenn H. Sullivan, who also received the 2013 Patent for Humanity Award from the United States Department of Commerce, Patent and Trademark Division, for his innovative NutraIso® technology.
