Larry Miller, PhD, Board Chairman

During his 38-year professional career with the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Dr. Miller was responsible for policy and programmatic leadership for food and agricultural research and education programs, providing policy and programmatic leadership and coordination  for the Minor Use Animal Drug Program and the Animal Residue Avoidance Databank (FARAD), two national programs cooperatively implemented by USDA and the US Food and Drug Administration. Other leadership positions Dr. Miller held during his time in Washington D.C. included Executive Secretary, Joint Council on Food and Agricultural Sciences, Office of the Under Secretary of Agriculture, USDA; National Program Leader for Animal Sciences, Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES), USDA; and Associate Administrator of the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service, USDA. He is a co-founder of Sustainable Nutrition International, Inc.

 

 

Elizabeth Ryan, PhD

Dr. Elizabeth Ryan is Assistant Professor of Toxicology and Nutrition at Colorado State University, Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences, in Fort Collins, Colorado.  She received her Ph.D. from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Denistry, in Molecular Toxicology and Environmental Medicine.

Dr. Ryan recently received Phase 2 Grand Challenges in Global Health funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to continue to pursue an innovative research project on how Rice Bran augments gut mucosal immunity and intestinal health
 

Arnold C. Hanish

Recently retired from Eli Lilly and Company as the Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, Arnold Hanish began his Lilly career as manager of domestic tax operations in 1984. In 1987, he moved into a financial reporting role and was appointed chief accounting officer in 1994. Hanish was responsible for the global accounting process, including SEC reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley, as well as the U.S. payroll, shareholder and stock option services, corporate staff functions support and consulting on business development activities such as M&A and licensing of compounds and technologies. He is a past chairperson of the Financial Executive’s International Committee on Corporate Reporting (2007-2010).

 

 

Judith Ripley

Judith Ripley brings over 25 years of public and private sector regulatory policy and public relations experience to Sustainable Nutrition International. She most recently served as Director of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions, and previously as a Member of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. Prior to her public service positions she practiced law for seventeen years, having received her Law Degree from the Indiana University School of Law. She is currently engaged at Capital Assets, a firm which represents clients in public policy matters.
